Introduction to Brain Gym

27th April 2017 9.30-3.30 (April School holidays) Sport Tasman Building, 9 Cambridge Street, Richmond

If you are wanting to know how to do all 26 of the Brian Gym movements and learn how to effectively use them in the classroom or learning environment, to prepare children for learning then you need this workshop.

If you are a remedial teacher of a child or adult you will also find this useful for building the skills needed for more effective focus and attention, behaviour and emotions.

Check out the workshop page on my website for more information about what is covered in this workshop.

Presenter bio- Kerri Bainbridge (Brain Gym Nelson)

As an Educational Kinesiologist, Kerri became interested in helping children overcome barriers to learning that arise, not from a medical condition, but from internal stressors that disrupt the ability to be receptive to learning. Brain Gym® and Kinesiology work well together to effectively improve the physical skills required for learning.

Kerri works mostly with children experiencing developmental delays, learning challenges at school, physical challenges such as coordination and bed wetting, social and emotional challenges such as fear, anxiety and anger.

Workshop feedback- Foundation Skills part 2 22/11/16

workshop feedback

Foundation Skills Workshops are ideally suited to those working with children under 6. The expected outcomes are:

  • understand what the foundation skills for formal learning are
  • understand the role of movement in brain development
  • Understand what the physical skills are for learning
  • have a tool box of activities and movements you can do with children in your care to help them build these skills
  • Know when you need to refer a child for further skills development with a professional
